Their appointment letters have been handed over by Menteri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, who is also Kuin chairman, to a staff representative during his surprise visit to the main campus in Kuala Ketil here on Monday.
They will receive the same perks and monetary rewards as other Kuin lecturers and staff once the institution is converted into a statutory body.
Kuin public relations department director Azki Hafizi Ibrahim said the move to absorb the general workers, who are mostly single mothers, into Kuin proved that the state government was living up to its promise to look after the welfare of Insaniah Holdings' staff.
It was reported that Kuin had been ordered to stop injecting funds into its subsidiary, set up by the former Pas-led state government, as it had became a bane to the institution.
Investigations have revealed there were irregularities in the running of the company, which was established to generate more funds for Kuin.
However, instead of achieving its aim, it had landed the university college into deeper financial difficulties.
Maznah Din, 50, who worked as a cleaner at Insaniah Holdings, said she had been losing sleep since she heard the company would be out of business soon.
"I was worried thinking of what would happen to my children, who are in primary and secondary schools.
"Thanks to Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir and Kuin acting rector Datuk Che Barni Mohd Nor, I now have a new job with better pay and benefits," she said here yesterday.
Sharing her sentiment was another supporting staff, Amnah Omar, 48. Amnah said she, too, was thankful to the state government for absorbing the workers.
"Most of us had been having problems with late salary payments before Barisan Nasional took over the state government in May.
"I am thankful that the state government has solved our problems in less than three months."
